# Custody and security

Understand fund custody, wallet approvals and program upgrade control.

MINU’s on-chain program controls the token and reward vaults. Your wallet approves actions involving your position, and the program checks whether those actions are allowed.

## What the program checks

* A claim or withdrawal is authorized by the position owner.
* MINU withdrawals occur only after the position’s minimum lock expires.
* Reward payments follow recorded earnings, unlock progress and previous payments.
* Deposited MINU returns according to the program’s custody rules.

The website cannot make a position’s lock expire by changing an animation or countdown. Confirmed program state determines transfers.

## Upgrade authority

{% hint style="warning" %}
The current program remains upgradeable by a single operator. A future upgrade can change reward calculations, withdrawal rules or custody behavior. The program has not received an independent security audit.
{% endhint %}

Wallet approval and current program checks do not make an upgradeable program immutable. Public documentation or source publication also does not remove upgrade authority.

## Keep control of your wallet

Never share a recovery phrase or private key. MINU does not need either. Check the website address, network, token contract and transaction details before signing.

A wallet connection is not permission to move funds. Deposits, claims and withdrawals are separate approvals. The creator-fee collector does not approve user claims.

## What can affect the experience

RPC outages can delay balance reads and confirmation. Collector delays can postpone new funding. Transaction fees apply even when a reward amount is small. Token prices, trading activity and future fees are variable.

Display values are projections based on available chain data. The actual result is settled by the confirmed transaction.

For a suspected vulnerability, privately contact [@minerinu](https://x.com/minerinu). Do not publish recovery phrases, private keys or exploitable details.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.minerinu.app/safety-and-transparency.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
