# Open your first position

A practical walkthrough from wallet connection to your first reward claim.

![A practical walkthrough from wallet connection to your first reward claim.](https://3637948861-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FAj4DZ2s1GvjVs45QXf35%2Fuploads%2FoIkHMNhuDrOx3Lm48rei%2Fmetals-first-position-v1.gif?alt=media)

Start on [minerinu.app](https://minerinu.app). You need a supported Solana wallet, the correct MINU token for the displayed network, and SOL for network fees.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Connect your wallet

Tap **Connect wallet**, choose your wallet and approve the connection. On a phone, you may be directed into the wallet’s own browser. Check the connected public address in the website header.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Check the network and token

Use the network shown by MINU. Verify the token using the contract-address block on the website, not only its name or ticker. Keep SOL available for transaction fees and required account rent.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Choose your mine

Bronze locks MINU for 4 hours at 1× weight. Silver uses 8 hours at 1.25×. Gold uses 16 hours at 1.5×. Choose a duration you are comfortable completing.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Review and approve the deposit

Enter an amount, review the lock and multiplier, then inspect the wallet transaction before approving. Wait for confirmation before treating the position as opened.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Follow your position

Open **My positions**. The card shows the MINU amount, lock progress, remaining time and reward balances. Earning begins from future distribution time after the confirmed deposit.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Claim or withdraw when eligible

Claim unlocked SOL whenever you choose. After the lock expires, withdraw MINU to stop the position from earning. Closing the withdrawn position can return eligible account rent.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## If something is not showing

**Wallet connected, no position:** connecting is not depositing. Check whether the deposit transaction was approved and confirmed.

**SOL earned, but less claimable:** a portion may still be locked by the position’s progress or already paid in an earlier claim.

**Withdraw not available:** check the lock expiry using the position’s countdown. Blockchain time controls eligibility.

**A very small reward:** rewards depend on funding and your weighted share. Display rounding and network costs can matter for tiny amounts.

{% hint style="info" %}
MINU currently runs on devnet. Mainnet deposits are not open. Never send mainnet assets to an address solely because it appears in a devnet session.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.minerinu.app/token-and-contracts.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
